Spring Break 2026

Anonymous
I need some spring ideas for a very tight budget. I'd like to keep overall cost well below $5k. It will be for one adult, two teens that love the beach but would be open to something new and exciting if it is teen approved.

If you are in NOVA spring break is super early next year, you might be able to find some beach deals

Any tips on how to find these deals?

Ok. This might be tunny for you but not for me. I am looking for suggestions.

Check out air and hotel packages. I’ve seen packages to Europe priced very reasonably.

Drive to Florida. Spring is the better time for the Gulf coast because it’s before the algae bloom season. Tampa, St Pete. If you want ocean coast, some popular beach spots like Amelia’s Island and St Augustine may still be too cold.

Do you have lots of airline miles or credit card points? If so, which programs?

Use PointsYeah or Seat.Aero websites to search points availability for your days of spring break.

I just booked our ticket to Europe for 2026 this past weekend. Unfortunately, DCPS spring break coincides with Easter so not a ton of good deals, ugh

I was going to suggest the keys. Cheap flights, rent a car, lots of hotel options if you get on it quickly. You can snorkel and kayak and visit the turtle sanctuary.

Or check Costco travel or southwest travel for package deals to places like Puerto Rico, DR, Jamaica. I think you’ll be right at 5K for three people but you might find something if you are willing to get a very basic hotel.

One other idea….consider a time share pitch.. you can often get really good deals if you are willing to sit through a 90 minute time share pitch. Given your budget, that might be a good way to stretch it a little.

Where did you book? I'm looking for Copenhagen or Paris, and haven't found anything on seats.aero yet.

Otherwise, to answer OP's question, I always like the southwest national parks as a spring break option. Not too hot and not too expensive.

Zurich, with a layover in AMS on KLM. 40K Chase points per ticket RT (utilizing the 25% transfer bonus to KLM) + $300 in taxes per person. 2.3 cpp value.

Slim pickings for next year.

We drove to HHI and stayed in Sea Pines - it was spring, not summer, but I thought it was nice.

Does it have to be somewhere warm? If not…
-Niagara Falls + Toronto
-French Canada
-a few days in Chicago
-a few days in Boston
-cheap flight to Vegas then one or more national park (some can be snowy in March/April, though)

That week is just about expensive everywhere because we copied half the country's Spring Break.
I wish our school vacations and dates were different. It would make vacations much cheaper.
