Republicans ran an actor and he became President. Then they ran another actor and he became Senator (Thompson). They ran a goofy singer, and he made it to Congress (Bono). They freakin' ran Gopher from the Love Boat and he got elected.
I would not say that a political satirist is the least qualified person to be in a Congressional hearing. |

| It started with Senator George Murphy of CA, a singer/dancer/actor; probably before your time. Then there are a bunch of sports figures as well. |
