| My 1.5 year old is not a picky eater (yet) and basically just eats what we eat. I've been getting a lot of in our CSA box and all of my kale recipes, like kale salads or adding it to soups, are not great for toddlers. It would be hard for her to chew. Any ideas? We've been eating it separately an giving her another side but it's so much easier to just cook the same meal for the entire family. |

Add to a smoothie
Braise so it's very, very tender and chop finely, then add to a million dishes - meatballs, quiche, frittata, pasta sauce, etc. |
| Kale chips! Bake them in the oven! |

Oh, and braised greens freeze beautifully so you could also freeze in small portions (ice cube trays or whatever) and then add to dishes through the summer/year. |
This. My kids love that stuff. |

kale chips for sure - my kids love these, even as toddlers.
Just be sure the kale is very dry after washing (I use the salad spinner), coat with olive oil and salt and bake at 350 for 10-ish minutes. Watch them - then burn fast! |

Blanch and puree. Add to similarly processed mustard greens and spinach.
Then, saute onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green chillies, cilantro together. Throw in some Indian spices and make saag. |

I always made chili Mac for my toddlers (mine and nanny kids). It was and still is their all time favorite:
https://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2008/08/chili-mac.html Make sure you cut the kale finely, not pulverized but not too big. They can sit in highchair and pick up the pieces with their fingers or practice spooning. I also make a kale bread and smear tomato paste on top. Kids loved that, too. I can give recipe if you like. |

We love this smoothie - admittedly it sounds gross but it tastes so good! (and we're not green crunchy people)
2 cups lightly packed chopped kale leaves ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or any milk you like 1 frozen medium banana cut into chunks ¼ cup plain yogurt ¼ cup frozen pineapple pieces 2 tablespoons peanut butter creamy or crunchy (I use natural creamy) |

| I made a ton of fritters for my daughter back in the toddler days: I'd pulse spinach, cheese (parmesan and/or goat), some flour, salt, etc. and then make little fritter cakes and pan fry in olive oil. She loved them. I suspect kale would work well. |
