If you contacted Dr. Reid repeatedly with a concern, did she get back to you?

I am wondering if it common to get zero response. If you repeatedly contacted Dr. Reid respectfully regarding a concern over many months and asked for a response, did she ever get back to you?

Yes, on one thing that was easy, popular and general.

No response on something that was not easy, regarding issues with the new metal detectors at high schools during morning finals and AP exams.

I often struggle to get a response from the classroom teacher the few times per year that I email them, much less the Superintendent. I wouldn't expect more than a canned response from Reid's staff at most.

Have you considered taking your issue to the ombudsman's office or to someone further down the chain like an executive principal?

She has multiple “special projects managers” who write empty, canned responses to concerns. I’m not sure that’s any better than no response.

I guess it depends on what "repeatedly" means? Enough to be considered a psycho? Why don't you just call her office instead & talk to her assistant?

Yes, from similar to described above. And when I did get an answer back (in regards to the lack of guaranteed grandfathering for high school juniors in policy 8130) I got a flat out lie. I replied with a quote from the policy and then got another response saying, well, yes but we might change that or not follow it. Garbage.

Took to school board member and principal, but Dr. Reid had the final say and never responded. It's closely related to an issue that others have brought up and felt was not appropriately addressed and I have since learned there is or have been related lawsuits. Very sad.

This is how the principals operate as well....only the easy happy things will get a reply.

I think it's stupid to go directly to the superintendent. There is a chain of command in schools, try it out.

Teacher - principal - executive principal - assistant superintendent - superintendent. When I contacted Reid, I was directed to the executive principal who got on a call with me and explained the situation, and then later because several others spoke with her too, the Assistant superintendent held a town hall with our community. It works, you just have to know the right way to do it.

Couple years back there was a parent and I kid you not

She would email the superintendent, school board, executive principal, asst superintendent, department chair, all the principals at the school, the counselor, all the teachers (even when the concern was just about one thing in one class)

Lady was straight loony. My child got a 98 but she should’ve gotten a 99. You didn’t give my child a certificate, I don’t like the pdf I want a real one so I know it’s not fake, the copy you gave me is black and white and it needs to be color.

Three kids all great students who were like were really sorry about our mom.

We used to wonder when she would start including the president on her emails 😂

OP said they jumped from principal to Reid. Maybe work back down at the executive principal and assistant superintendent level. If Reid isn't answering but is really the person who needs to answer they will happily pass the buck, but it might have more say coming from them.

Yes, OP sound like she goes directly to the Superintendent about trivial matters. If you want an answer, you need to do it the right way. Too many crazy crays on here.

I asked about something the region superintendent had said would happen, someone from Reid's office responded and said no it wasn't happening, but a few weeks later it happened anyway. Why didn't they just tell the truth?
