Would you support the hiring of Rhee as Superintendent of Montgomery County Public
Schools? |
HELL NO!!!!!!!!!! |
No, and I can't for a second imagine that MCPS would consider Rhee a qualified candidate! |
Plus, she wants to get married and move to CA! |
I agree with the Hell No poster. Plus, members of the MoCo BOE have already stated that they don't like her style. |
I like a lot of what she's done for DCPS. |
No. Simple as that. She is arguably what DC needed, but Montgomery County is whole 'nother ball of wax. Would rather have someone with more experience dealing with such a sprawling suburban school system with definite vocal factions, all of whom raise good points, but each of whom are somewhat myopic in their focus. We need someone who can unite these voices and see what is good overall for everyone - not someone who will exacerbate the current divides. |
. I don't think it is possible to unite all the factions in the MCPS. The system is too big and the student body too diverse. I agree we need someonevwho will listen to all, but that person also has to have thevresolve to do what they think is best regardless of what a vocal faction says. |
Yes. |
Absolutely. |
Anyone off the street can enter a system like DC and do a "Rhee."
She possesses no special talents; she bullies. And with 3 years of experience behind her, she's hardly a pro in the classroom. Successful superintendents always examine a system through a teacher's lens. Once you lose that perspective you should move out education. |
meant to write out OF education
|
I think not. I could be convinced otherwise, but MCPS has several highly rated high schools, so something is going right at least in part of the county. The system does not need a complete overhaul, which is what Rhee appears to be trying to do with DC. |
|
This is the first time I have weighed in on the "Rhee" issues. My DS is a K in a MoCo school.
The problem with Rhee is that she is not mature or sophisticated enough for the job. You need to build consensus and credibility in any job. You can't be an effective leader by bullying. She has learned this lesson the hard way. She also appears to like her "celebrity" status. Not my cup of tea. |
