My teenager will be in Junior year and school reopens on Aug 26 2025, he might have to miss 3 days of school and start on Aug 29 due to family commitment overseas, will that be okay to miss 3 days in the beginning of junior year, please advise pros and cons

I don’t think it’s a huge deal. He will miss the teachers explaining class expectations and due dates etc but if he carefully reads everything they post online and has friends in the class that can get him up to speed, that’s okay. They usually aren’t covering a lot of content that first week. He just needs to be respectful of the teachers in making up anything missed and not making your issue into their issue.

How many AP/IB classes? Some of those courses give summer work that is review of key skills or intro material. First week goes over that material and there may be a quiz the following week. Just be aware and be on top of any class that gets a quick start that way.
