SAT Tutor

Anonymous
Hi, I'm a rising college sophomore looking to tutor over the summer, and was wondering if any parents had advice on what they're looking for in a tutor, where they usually go to find tutors, or if anyone's looking to hire a tutor. I'm in the Honors College at UMD, got a 1590 on the SAT, was a National Merit Scholar, and have prior experience tutoring in math. I would prefer to tutor in math or SAT prep, but honestly I'm open to anything. I'm a CS and Econ major if anyone's interested in tutoring in those areas.

Thanks!

Two key I look for in a good tutor:

- A track record of success
- A warm personality and decent emotional intelligence with the capacity to engage with my kid
- Professionalism in communications and the program you've developed

As for where I look for tutors, I've used Wyzant a lot.
