What to pair with Copenhagen

Planning a trip to Copenhagen in November to visit our college student studying abroad. Would love suggestions for add on destinations. We probably have about 7 days total.

We’ve been to all the coastal European countries, would like to see Scandavia and perhaps Eastern Europe.

I suggest staying in Copenhagen for the week. There are lots of day trips to cool castles and you could visit Malmo, Sweden (30 min train ride). You could also go to Odense or somewhere else in Denmark but 7 days isn't that long and its a wonderful city with plenty to do.

Not any colder than Copenhagen but it’s so dark that time of year.

Norway is AMAZING but you’d need more time to enjoy. Was just in Copenhagen visiting student. We were there for a week and had plenty to do. We did day trips and lots of activities. One day we took an all day tour to Malmo Sweden.

I think this is the answer, and plan on spending time in the surrounding regions of both. There's a ton to do within an hour or two of Copenhagen, and I love the swedish countryside in summer.

I personally wouldn't combine with a non-scandi country or city because I think it's fun to feel immersed in that culture. So if not Sweden/Stockholm, I'd do Norway or Finland. I think Berlin and Amsterdam are separate trips.
