Sunrise at Haleakala then bike down
Road to Hana
Snorkel at Molokini
Dinner at Mama’s Fish House
Nakalele Blowhole

There was a great grocery store north of Ka’anapali that had the best fresh guacamole and freshest salads, but I can’t find it on Google maps.

What are “nicer first class tickets”? Are their first class tickets that aren’t nice? What?

Probably not doable for August. I booked/paid this six months in advance as an anniversary present, the second my parents announced their trip, and they had limited availability then.

It was totally overrated anyway. No loss for OP.

Your best bet for premium first class is to fly into chicago or den on United, and connect to Maui on a flight with a 777 or 787 for the longer portion of your travel.

If you fly American and connect through DFW and fly straight to Maui you’ll have a nice long leg in first class.

NP. Sometimes we've been given the individual pod, lie flat seats on larger planes (777; 787) on domestic flights. Other times (like a 737), they're just wider seats, spaced further apart.

Don't go to Hawaii. Overpriced and over hyped.

Last two weeks of August are off season - Hawaii and California schools are back in session. Great time to visit. Agree with finding United 787 or 777 flights with the good Polaris seats. Might have to connect through HNL but worth it to lie flat and sleep there/ the red eye back.

We liked the Montage.

We booked a semi-private small plane to take us to the big island to see the volcanos since the kids wanted to see them. There is a small airport up near Kapalua. It was a little windy though so be warned. Lahaina is still in shambles.

Do you mean THIS August?

The flight there is a day flight.

Thank you to those who gave me the info about the "nicer" 1st class seats - that is what I want in the red eye back!
Yes, this August. We are idiots and do everything last minute.
