I am planning a short vacation with college students. We don’t have time to get to Europe. (Please suggest names of locations or resorts). Thanks. |

What do you want to be doing? Outdoor stuff? You mentioned "resorts" which isn't really a think in cooler weather sites during the summer, so I;m not sure what you're looking for.

Yes this is a top.notch "zero context" post. No mention of cost range, how many days exactly (short could be a week, could be 3 days), plus what you listed. |
We are also looking for an August 4 day trip with college students. Considering Montreal, Toronto, Seattle but still looking. Wondering if London or Amsterdam would be possible. |
Montreal was perfect for our family last July. It's not guaranteed to be "cooler", but the weather was quite pleasant during our 5 day trip. Can't beat how close it is as well. |
Anchorage! Stay in town for exploring but rent a car to drive out of town to look around. You don’t have to go far or book yourself to see really cool stuff. |

Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria Island. You can do all 3 in one trip. You can go whale watching, zip lining, hiking, boat rides, enjoy the sea to sky hwy, etc. The Four Seasons in Whistler is cheap during the summer. |
I think you mean the town of Victoria on Vancouver Island? Few travelers go to Victoria Island: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Island |
My family really enjoyed a combo Montreal and Quebec summer vacation years ago. A highlight in Montreal was Cirque du Soleil's Big Top show. We saw Luzia many years ago and just loved it. It is back in summer 2025. Highly recommend it! https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/canada/montreal/shows |

Canada - the Canadian Rockies in addition to the places mentioned. Two caveats: I'm not sure what condition Jasper is in after the terrible fire a while back and sometime there are wild fires that spread smoke elsewhere, but it's usually cool and so beautiful.
Alaska - we found it so cool and refreshing compared to the East Coast last summer. If you do a land trip, I recommend using Anchorage only as a gateway and renting a car to travel to parts south and north. The cruise south to Vancouver through the Inside Passage (especially Glacier Bay National Park) is also very scenic with stops in interesting (albeit touristy) places along the way. Upstate New York is also usually cool -- anywhere in the Adirondacks in particular. |
