color for a dark living room

Anonymous
We just moved into a rowhouse that while it gets beautiful sun at the end of the day streaming through the front living room window at the end of the day is overall much darker than we were used to in an upper-level apartment. What colors would be good here? One chartreuse chair, a blue sofa and blue rug, with a glass/wood table.

Our living room is dark so we've always painted it a light yellow. That color extends into adjacent hallways.

End of day light might be more of a western exposure or north west because the light isn’t great. The light may also just be blocked by other buildings or foliage and you may have a better exposure. (You can look at the compass on your phone if you have a phone to see what direction your house is facing). I would go with something like Benjamin Moore Swiss coffee. If you want more color you can always paint the trim a different shade.
