Sentenced to 10 years with all but 12 months suspended. He served 14 months for which he will get credit.

Can a lawyer explain this? 10 years is a serious sentence, but he essentially is free immediately instead? How does this kind of sentencing make any sense? He had detailed plans 129 pages to carry out a massacre at an elementary school and ay a high school…. and he’s banned from… Discord?
