North Carolina magnet school.
This year only 15% got into T20 or T5 lacs. Advantage of going to a magnet school diminished. Although they have 50% graduates matriculate to NC Chapel Hill, and 21% to NC state. Chapel Hill is a decent school. I think TJ is in decline as well, but not sure. |

Cute your sources.
What school? |
| Schools are under pressure to admit students from more high schools even if those students are not as strong as those from the magnet. |
| Wake County? |
| What school? Seems more like NCSSM but wouldn’t call it a magnet. Wouldn’t think Enloe gets 50% UNC. Another county? |
Why you wouldn’t call NCSSM a magnet? |
Magnets also have a more diverse student population with different abilities to go to certain colleges. |
My kid went there. I guess it technically is, I just don’t think of it as one due to boarding and only 11/12. Honestly never thought about it until now. |
| ^ Are you the OP, did they not have a good year for admissions? |
| Oh no. What pity. 50% have to go to their T25 flagship. ): |
With a tuition grant no less, it’s a gem. |
Definitely not Enloe! I'd say they get maybe 20% into Chapel Hill and probably closer to 15%. |
Yeah, I only know research triangle schools. Curious what OP meant. |
| I saw some of the results...you saw a lot of MIT, RPI, Northeastern, Lehigh, Michigan, NYU, Purdue. Not sure why having a big percentage go to the in-state school UNC would be surprising. TJ students here love UVA. Others choose to go elsewhere. I'm not sure what the point of the OP is? |
| I’d think they had to mean NCSSM, UNC spreads the wealth too much to be anything else. |
