The White House is preparing to send the rescission package to Congress next week, possibly as early as Monday or Tuesday. It will include $9b in cuts to USAID and others.
It will be interesting to see if it passes, which is in doubt. And if it does not pass, will the White House then disburse the funds to USAID, PBS and NPR, etc., which is why they were initially loathe to go this route? |
It won't pass the senate.
the problem is, at least where USAID is concerned, the damage is done. |
That's it? $9 billion? DOGE's actions don't mean anything unless Congress rescinds the money.
So after months of DOGE firing people and "cancelling contracts" they send up a measly $9 billion of cuts? That's embarrassing. |
Why can’t us aid be undone. |
