GMU softball pitching camp

Hi - any experience with the one-day pitching camp for grades 7-12? My rising 9th grader wants some more serious instruction before trying out for the hs team next year.

Do the players get 1:1 instruction? Worth the price?

I also looked into private pitching lessons - this seems like a better deal.

If you reach out to GMU, their pitchers give lessons on site for a reasonable price as well.

We had a great experience at the general Mason camp years ago. However, I don't think a one day camp will make appreciable change in prepping for HS pitching. Unfortunately most pitchers are taking private lessons.

Agree w/ PP. If you daughter wants to pitch in high school, she is going to need more than one day of instruction. Most of the stronger HS pitchers are working with a pitching coach weekly.

My 13 year old has been taking weekly (private) pitching lessons since she was 9. The three other pitchers on her travel team have also been taking weekly lessons for years. What HS will your kid go to? We can probably tell you how competitive it is.
