My kid has jumped 15 spots on the waitlist for 1st grade - did they open a new classroom or something? |
-resisting a redshirting joke- |
I actually thought about that being related, but wouldn't enforcing the rules just push a bunch of redshirted preschoolers past K straight into 1st, opening more spots in K? |
Maybe the 48 page thread is scaring people off? In all seriousness, though, Lafayette’s waitlists sometimes move. It’s wildly inconvenient to commute to, and I think maybe the reality sinks in once people are offered a slot. (Just my theory as an OOB family.)
Ps if you get in, don’t let the crazy thread scare you. Most people are not that weird. |
The reverse is if they are moved from 1st grade and allowed to stay in kindergarten, then it is opening more spots for 1st grade. |
In the other Lafayette thread, someone mentioned that people trying to redshirt (bdays before Sept 30) got an email from the Lottery system removing them from the waitlist. No one has shared a copy of the email, and seems unlikely that there would be 15 families trying to redshirt INTO 1st. |
