Plug DCUM and Dartmouth into Google and you’ll find a ton of recent posts. Maybe read those threads first and then come back with more specific questions? (I don’t mean to be snarky - I genuinely think there’s a lot of helpful info in the previous threads.)

| That’s still the stereotype, but my kid is at another with an outdated stereotype. We visited most Ivies and did accepted days at multiple. My personal assessment is that the student body is interchangeable and all are more studious and serious. It takes a lot to get there now. |

My son's friend, who is far from being a fratty bro, is liking his time at Dartmouth. He is outdoorsy and sporty, though. The orientation week is a sort of camping trip, I believe, and he does lots of skiiing.

| A large percentage of students join Greek life at Dartmouth but i wouldn't describe it as "fratty'. There's a TON of diversity in the organizations and also from one organization to another. Also, the Greek system is unique in that parties are open to everyone and since rush doesn't occur until Sophomore year, many kids have established friendships that transcend Greek affiliations. |
