Fed. MyPay says I will be receiving a "debt letter." What is this?

I participated in the Student Loan Repayment Program in my agency and am entering year three of a three year service requirement required for repayment, but didn't received any funds this year since no one seems to be administering the program. My emails have bounced back.

It means you need to pay it or it will be debited out of your paycheck

They overpaid you in some way. My DH got one of these when they somehow fumbled his health insurance premiums and didn't deduct enough from his paycheck.

Just wait for the letter then contact HR directly. I would contact HR now to figure out what’s going on. Someone will have a resolution.

They’ll dock your pay for not paying your bills.

This happened to a colleague when they accidentally switched her to an area with higher locality pay.

I don’t even know what “it” is or what this is for. The SLRP is repayed through a service requirement that I have been honoring.

There is a new administration in town. Look into whether your program has been cancelled. But asking us here isn't going to get you the information you need.

Is there a reason you think the letter has to do with the SLRP? Like others have said, it could be another pay error.

It may have nothing to do with the SLRP, is our point.

mypay debt letter

Very common in military.

They screwed up your payroll and are now fixing it. Wait for details and try to save up some cash.
