| I get this crap today a 360 review being done includes my staff, one staff she is a wacko bitter person who backstabs, I was going to almost write her up tomorrow but instead I have to pretend she is best, butter her up. Pretend she is great so she doesn’t crucify me. How is this productive? |
| I actually think they’re the most useful of all the stupid reviews we have to do. |
|
I’ve done them from the other side (worker bee doing review for someone in my chain of management, or a manager in a different division) and I’ve never been honest on them. I have no faith that any feedback or evaluation I provide will remain confidential.
Plus after decades of seeing these done for managers, and zero difference in that manager after, it’s a waste of time. |
Except I then have to guess who who said what. |
| BTW one company I worked at used these to fire you. |
|
I worked at a company where they talked a lot about 360 reviews but what they meant was your peers give feedback and your manager reviews you. So you never reviewed your manager.
I always thought it was pretty telling that they thought a hierarchically-driven 180 was a 360. |
