Is there a place to donate baby blankets and crib bedding? Prefer not to bring to Goodwill where they will turn around and sell it. Would rather it be used by moms who need them and can get them for free. |
A Wider Circle

A wider circle takes everything but I doubt they reuse baby bedding. They just take everything so people feel good but then dispose of a lot of it.
OP try a buy nothing or local giveaway group. I don’t think an organized nonprofit is likely to reuse bedding. It’s too complicated to clean it, etc. |
OP - thanks for the input! I noticed NCCF did not list bedding on their web site, so probably the same with Wider Circle. |
Agree with buy nothing group. Or donate it to
Thrift store. Yes they sell it but it will still be a good deal for someone to buy it used. |
You local women and childrens shelter. |

I bet if you take baby bedding to goodwill they just trash it. I don’t think it’s a resellable category. |
Do you have a neighborhood Facebook or next door group? People post things like this in ours and there are a few neighbors who collect items like this for a woman's shelter or refugees. |
I see this sentiment all the time and don't understand it. Organizations that run thrift stores "turn around and sell it" so that they can use the funds for the good works that they do. |
+1 And I think that's only the realllly nice donations; not used baby bedding. DD thrifts at goodwill and I'm pretty sure there are piles of baby bedding for 25 cents or whatever that people will pick up for whatever reason. It won't be sold along online or whatever. I'll check next time. |
Goodwill doesn't do any "good works". The only thing they do is hire disabled people, sometimes, but even those people are paid less than minimum wage. |
I give it away on facebook marketplace for free. The people who pick up do seem to need it. I just put it on my front porch and it disappears. Very easy. |
