Tax loss harvesting with Muni Bond Fund

| I have a loss and considering selling, leaving in cash fund and then rebuying after 30 days. I bought my state focused muni fund at exactly the wrong time. This would be a short term holding. What gain can I offset? Does it also need to be short term? |

It doesn’t need to be short term…it offsets any capital gain.
