Potomac Tourney - what gives?

There seems to be no tournament website with scores. If I’m mistaken the first tourney in a decade that didn’t have what should be required.

Surely I’m mistaken?

Bethesda is destroying everyone in this tournament. It appears only the Virginia teams can check them from time to time.

Bethesda had a great showing. However, the scores I saw online looked different than conversations I had with friends about the games their kids played in. I also saw other clubs posting that they were Potomac tourney champions, and didn’t see them on the results list. Is this accurate?

Correct. You had teams who won Potomac top bracket but in fact were barely beating/draw with ECNL RL, NAL and EDP (NL) teams, i.e. 2011. 2012 lost to the only MLSNext team they played and beat up on NAL and EDP teams.

Potomac is not a strong tourney past the ulittles. It’s a solid tournament, for sure, but like many others it’s top tier is watered down with ECNL and MLSN barely participating. Its own ECNL teams don’t even participate some ages.

The Virginian is no different and why they had tons of SYC vs SYC finals past the ulittles.

The 2012 bsc team lost bec of the coach. He refuses to ever play a starting 11. He sticks with a mandatory rotation and mandatory equal time for each player. He refuses to play to win bec he insists at this age its still about development. Right or wrong. The team is having a massive shake up bec of this and will look very different next year.

He’s right though but I suppose parents who are used to their kids getting all the playing time and attention aren’t going to be happy about that.
