| We’ve already done our car shopping and test drove a couple cars at a dealership in Maryland. We went to a different dealership (in Virginia) to get the exact car we wanted. The sales rep. insisted we test drive the car before working with us on price or otherwise moving forward with the transaction. Is this required by law or the car company? Or is this dealership just being annoying? |
| He doesn't want you returning the car. People do. |
| He’s trying to confirm you’re a serious buyer. |

When purchasing a new car, we agreed on price and then test drove the actual car we’d be buying, before we signed off on purchase.
Yes, we’d driven that model before and knew how it should feel and drive. We just like driving the car first for peace of mind. |
| They get your drivers license and run checks on you during the drive |
| They check your credit score and finances. |
| Also I cannot beleive you do not know this. |
DING DING DING. |
| "Required by law" Seriously? Is this even a question? |
