| There was so much talk around inflation in mid 2024 when grocery prices skyrocketed. My typical $70 bill for grocery on each Saturday went up to $100. In last 2 months, the same amount of stuff is costing me $130-140. It's like only the richest can afford blueberries and pomegranates. I bought regular sized 3 white onions for $8.70 yesterday! What the heck is going on? Will the middle class always suffer no matter what? |
| Welcome to Trump’s world, where he does everything the opposite of what he promised. Lower grocery bills? Ha. Have some budget killing tariffs instead. |
|
No idea what you are talking about.
My groceries went from $275/cart to $400/cart in 2021. Been about the same ever since, except for Aldi. I do feel like their prices have gone up a bit, but still super cheap. |
| "groceries" |
| Mine went down just a bit, maybe change where you are shopping? |

I'm curious why you specify the middle class as the suffering group, and not the working class?
You know that government help doesn't compensate for low incomes, right? |
| Onions aren’t in season unless they’re spring onions- buy in season and freeze or put in your root cellar in some sand. Also don’t buy 3 individual onions buy 5-10 lb. |
| I feel you, I let my kid pick up a dragon fruit and it turned out it costs like $8. |
Also, $70 would not even cover my daughter's lunches for 5 days. OP must buy mostly snacks and eat out. It's Memorial Day weekend. Maybe chips and cookies cost more. Please don't B.S. me that you are buying your family's groceries for meals for $70/week. |
Well... She only buys onions. |
|
She's all by herself now her boyfriend has left her, has never bought sugar and was surprised a bag was 4lbs, but spends $200 on skincare every month.
Or maybe it's all different trolls. But the point is, they're all trolls. |
Those are out of season. Welcome to adulthood and learning when plants come into season and prices drop. Also, why did you overpay so much for onions? They are around $1 a pound. Were they the size of cantaloupes?
I have my doubts you are even close to actual middle class either. |
Root cellar? Sand??? What? |
^This. probably A.I. bots, or really sad humans, spouting the same old tired lines. |
