Any thoughts about the House bill?

The cuts are draconian, now including Medicare and that is where the pain will first be felt due to PAYGO.

But what about Medicaid? Will they take new applications for LTC if the funding will be cut precipitously in the years ahead?

It's fantastic to cut Medicaid. More families should be taking care of their elders instead of farming them out to "homes."

Hello Troll.

You will need to recertify twice a year in some states. Get ready for chaos in all the nursing homes in America

Wow, this will be for seniors too? That's maddening. Why isn't PE up in arms over this?

Yes, this will absolutely decimate nursing homes and senior care.

They are cutting 1.5 trillion and using that to offset tax cuts. It’s one for one.

The way the republicans are doing it is by increasing government regulation and red tape. At the same time they are making access to the government agencies very difficult.

Remember when the republicans asked about reducing red tape and government bureaucracy? How far they have fallen.

No you have no idea what you are talking about and it’s not just Medicaid it’s Medicare as well . And the tax burden for lower income goes up not down those families will have less monies to take care of family learn to read’

And they are adding to the National
Debt trillions, giving billionaires tax breaks

Also in this bill is giving Trump
Power over the courts ie making him king

Every independent analysis shows the opposite.
- CBO: Increases the deficit by $3.8 trillion
- CRFB: $3.1 trillion
- Penn Wharton: $2.8 trillion
- Tax Foundation (even factoring growth): $1.7 trillion

Undocumented immigrants aren’t eligible for Medicaid (except for emergencies). The bill punishes states that use their own funds to cover kids or pregnant women regardless of status. The real impact? 7.6 million people left uninsured.
This bill isn’t about savings. It’s about stripping healthcare, ballooning the deficit, and blaming immigrants for it.

If you have not read this or project 2025 do not comment here, project 2025 decimates healthcare particularly preexisting conditions and maternity care. They want women barefoot pregnant and with no money for maternity care. Kids with diabetes or cancer well gee they will no longer be insured.

Will this have a trickle down effect on hospitals? I mean people will be dying on the streets (or more likely at home, with no access to healthcare) which is what Rs want, but a lot more people will seek care in ERs. We already hear stories of ERs discharging (illegally) and putting people in taxis with just the address of a relative as there is no care home to take them. And police involved in hospital lobbies. I don't see any winners here. How will it play out?

Yes, it will have an effect on hospitals. The biggest winners will be the extremely wealthy. Frankly, I'm all for cutting medicaid and medicare as well. People should work hard and save money for their future.

In CA, ALL undocumented are eligible for full scope Medicaid. Plus in home care where their family is paid to take care of them.
It’s a lot of money and it needs to end.

They’ll just die quicker at home like it happens in less developed countries. Nobody tries to save anyone over 70 there.
