Philadelphia reataurants

Looking for recommendations for restaurants for a multigenerational family trip to Philadelphia. Mid-range, American/Italian probably best with our crowd but could do Mexican too. We’re saying near Independence Hall. Thanks.

Royal Tavern (American)

Zahav (Middle Eastern)

Reading Terminal Market (food hall with different vendors)

Famous 4th Street Deli

I am mexican and really recommend South Philly Barbacoa. Great restaurant for breakfast or brunch tacos.

Reading Terminal Market is great

Talula's Garden, especially for brunch. You'll definitely need reservations.

We stayed a little northwest of Independence Hall (at Sonder The Heid) and enjoyed eating at Wood Street Pizza and El Purepecha. Personally, I felt that Reading Terminal Market was crowded, chaotic, and smelly but that might be part of the appeal to some. Make sure you visit Magic Gardens!

There's not much variety in a "mid range" price to what we already have in the DC area.

Kalaya (Thai) was phenomenal. It's in a super cute neighborhood too. The venue is cool looking.

Hard to get Zahav reservation with short lead up time.
Maybe Suraya.
Victor’s Cafe has opera singers, food ok, sometimes salty.
Look at Craig Laban’s Instagram including reels. Scannichio’s https://www.scannicchio.online/

It’s been years since I’ve been, but I’ve had some good meals at Tequila’s.

Reading is fun but it's packed and there's nowhere to sit most of the time. I wouldn't do that with a multigenerational family. Maybe a split-off group of very independent people who can find their own food, find each other and find a seat!

Barbuzzo and Parc.

I think Parc has gone downhill. Anyway, it’s basically Le Dip, just in Philly.

Is there outdoor seating?
