Tall Pants for Boys After 34L?

DC's 34L pants are starting to look like high wires, which tells me we'll be in trouble by the fall. Most of his favorite brands (Vineyard Vines, Banana Republic, JCrew) don't seem to carry khakis/dress pant lengths longer than 34L.

His school's dress code requires khakis/dress pants. I'm sure I'm not the first mom to face this dilemma. However, DC is picky about comfort and softness of fabric. Eg he hates Lands End, hates Vineyard Vines performance pants. He prefers soft cotton stretch fabrics.

Does anyone know what higher quality brands carry lengths for taller boys and men?

American Tall. My son is a 36 inch inseam and it’s where I get all his pants. Big selection. Reasonably priced. Good quality.

The Big & Tall stores, but if he's skinny those are unlikely to work. 34 is the longest standard stores sell. How tall is he? Mine is 6'7" and 34" is not too short.

I also recommend American Tall. I may have bought online from some retailers like American Eagle or Gap but it could have just been long shirts.

So many brands top out at a 34. Old Navy has 36 inch inseam, online only. You might have luck with LL Bean, though also may be online only?

Lands end will hem pants. But the issue is the waist. Lands ends starts at 30, so we haven’t gotten there yet. My DS is as 28w 34L.

My sister says to check Nordstrom. (Her kid is 6’6 and super thin. not sure of the inseam.)

Lululemon men's 5 pocket pants have a 37" inseam option and they hem.

Kühl pants come in 36. My son had a pair that lasted forever and looked like new--I gave them to a friend for her tall and skinny teen after mine bulked up. REI may have them in store to try on.

Wranglers come in any assortment of waist/length you want. I used to order 28/36s when I barrel raced.

Your kid has a long torso! Mine is 6'4" and wears a 27 x 36. Very slim with long legs.

OP I found a goldmine of Paige men's pants at Nordstrom Rack. They were both khaki and blue chinos. They were the 30 x 34 but fit slim and more like a 35L. They were still $80 but very soft and he loved them.

Most stores carry the longest at about 34 long. Less typical sizes requires online shopping or as specialty stores.

Maybe that will shift as it has with shoes. Fifteen years ago, my husband rarely found his size 14 shoe. Nowadays, he sees size 13-14 much more often.
