Public education alone is on average $10-$13k/year. More if you require EL or Sped services and more if you require free meals. Add in all the free healthcare and multiply by multiple kids per family and it’s doubtful that their family’s financial contribution to our economy exceeds what we are spending on them each year.

Add in all the free healthcare and multiply by multiple kids per family and it’s doubtful that their family’s financial contribution to our economy exceeds what we are spending on them each year.

+1 and the public education cost is closer to $20k/student in densely populated areas.

I imagine similarly to the doge fork offers, the vast majority of people who take it are going to be the people who were ready to go anyway. The money making ability is just so much greater here that most people wont think it’s worth it.
