ISL coaches

I have a 7th grade daughter who is going to start looking at high schools next year. She is a strong club lax player and will hope to make the team, at least JV to start. Can anyone tell me anything about the coaches and team culture at the following schools:

SR
Visi
NCS
Maret
St John’s
SSSAS

St. John’s isn’t in the ISL.

SR, Visi, and SSSAS are all significantly better than NCS and Maret.

I would suggest sending your daughter to the best academic and best social fit you can. Lacrosse stops mattering the day age graduates from college. If she’s desperate to play in college and play for a big program. She needs to play for a big club and play for one of the big 4 in the ISL.

What club does your daughter play for?

Why would anyone answer this question? They’ll get questioned and criticized relentlessly.

Any insight into when Visi will get a new coach after the parent coach is gone?

All of these schools are vastly different from one another.

NCS and Maret are BAD program and the schools are WOKE as hell.

SR, SJC and Visi are right of "center" while SR is somewhat progressive for being a Catholic school.

Potomac?

If you were only selecting a school based on lax and the coach, which school would you choose?

SSSAS, SR, Potomac would be top choice for just lax/coaches. Even if head coaches leave the schools will find excellent coaches to fill those spots.

There are 2 levels in the ISL, so she'd want to be playing for the higher level, which eliminates some of these schools. Curious why only ISL (although you have StJ in here), and why not have Potomac on your list? They won the state championship yesterday and have a strong varsity program

In terms of lacrosse programs and coaching staff, SSSAS, SR, and Potomac stand out as top choices. SJC, Visi, GC too! Even if the head coaches were to depart, these schools will attract exceptional replacements. These institutions offer excellent programs and academic opportunities. Disregard any negative comments from individuals who may have unrealistic expectations for their child's playing time. Enrolling your child in any of the aforementioned schools guarantees a quality education and exposure to high-caliber lacrosse players bound for Division 1 teams. It is common for students to not make varsity until their junior year, unless they consistently outperform their older peers.

I wouldn't sleep on Sidwell. Strong academics and excellent coach. Club is far more important than school for recruiting.

And, no, my kid is not at Sidwell (or any of the other teams mentioned).

I still would never send my kids to a school for lacrosse primarily.

But I would pick Potomac, SR, or SJC based on coaching alone if forced. SSSAS would be top of the list because KJ is an all time great coach, but who knows how much longer she will coach.

I like the Visi coach but I also wonder how long he will be there.
