| They are home from school, and have a job lined up, but it does not start until late June. In the meantime, they need to do something so they are not sitting at home. What short-term gigs would you suggest? We are in Arlington, near transit, and they have access to a car, so anything in the region would work. |

Can’t your adult child figure out how to get through 3 weeks of life?
Have them Google food pantries and reach out and see if they need help for 3 weeks. |
I wish they had more initiative. But since they do not, I am trying to point them in the right direction. |
| They have just come out of a week of exams. Let them sit on the couch, watch Netflix, pet the dog and text their friends for a few weeks before they go back into Master of the Universe mode. |
+1. Why OP’s child cannot relax for 3 weeks? |
Typical DCUM. Judgment instead of advice. |
Yea, adult life rarely presents a carefree 3 weeks with no responsibilities. It’s a magic time when you have a job lined up but don’t have to start for a bit. OP, why don’t you go on a vacation with them, at least for one of the three weeks? |
The college student across the street from us is hustling. She starts her internship at the end of May, but until then she’s hustling! |
| Why can’t your kid relax for three weeks? |
| Mine does DoorDash for school breaks. |
+1 DS just graduated, has a job starting in mid June, and is going to enjoy this last opportunity to be carefree for a few weeks (one week will be an extended family beach trip). |
| My college student is exhausted from the semester. They are resting on the couch. We have a few trips planned. They can work after that. |
| The wealthy DCUM parents instilling such laziness in their children! OP, I would suggest your child try DoorDash or Instacart. |
Ummm. Hmmm. This "hustling" ... it means different things in my culture, I guess. |
