| I am at the George Mason university graduation and the vast majority of the graduates are women and minorities in public health, social work, or health administration. That includes master and PhD students. I feel bad for them because many of the jobs are low pay, and I question if they need to go to college in the first place. |
| Public health is a very competitive field. You definitely need the MPH even though the jobs may be lower pay. |

Trump has destroyed public health, and it already was a hard slog.
Mammas, don’t let your kids get public service degrees. Nursing is probably a much better idea. |

You don't want people to be properly educated for upward mobility in the field of their choice? You don't want people to understand the foundations of their field and recent developments?
Why not feel sorry instead that the caring professions are undervalued in our society? |

PP. You also don't know whether those people are full time students. The school they chose may have the right program, location, and price to allow them to acquire a credential needed for job advancement while remaining employed.
My best friend got an MSW while working full-time as a hospital registration clerk and entry-level social worker support person. |
| I noticed that a lot of Black people for example tend to study similar fields and I honestly don't know why. I graduated with both a Bachelor's and Masters degree in pure Math from UCLA and there was only 1 other black student in my graduating class. I wish many of us would major in math, electrical engineering, physics etc. instead we are found in majors such a psychology, exercise science etc and in huge numbers as well. |
