Is the SOL not as rigorous as other tests?

| DC in ACPS scores advanced on both reading and math. We have friends in DC and were discussing their state assessment and it seems so much more rigorous. Students have to respond to 3 writing prompts in 3-5th grade on the reading test. The math test also has a written portion where they show their work and explain their thinking. Makes me wonder about the VA standards in general. |
