Overzealous autoban

Anonymous
It seems like I keep getting auto banned once a week for anything and everything. I don't post slurs, I don't advocate for violence, and for that matter very little of my comments are even controversial or all that offensive. Am I sarcastic? Sure.

I'm currently posting from my phone because my home internet got banned. For what? Latest, as I can tell, was for a sarcastic response with words similar to "noughts" and "players."

The time before that was because I responded on the "Trump lowers chemical limits" thread with some rebuttals to RFK Jr's thought about inoculation as causes of certain developmental issues, that they are more closely related to environmental pollutants. I still don't even know what tripped the flag on that one.

It's one headscratcher after another.

Report your IP address and I'll look into it. I can refine rules if the are producing too many false positives.

It looks like you were blocked the first time for using the "r-word" which I've banned because a great many of our posters find it offensive. You were also blocked for posting "CrickEtS" which I've also blocked simply because it is irritating and adds nothing of value to the discussion.

Haha to banning crickets!

I initially read this as autobahn and thought, “overzealous autobahn” is redundant. Then was confused why it was on the website feedback forum.

Head scratcher? You think the r-word is acceptable? You'll be happier elsewhere.

I'm confused.

R-word? The only one I know of is a slur about developmentally challenged people and I never use that word because I also find it offensive.

As for the critters I DO use that as a prod when the resident conservatives can't bring themselves to respond, acknowledge facts, or admit they are wrong, which I do think makes a valid point. But I guess I could do that another way.

That's the word but looking into it further (I had to check different log files), it seems that this is another case of the brain-dead pattern matching to which we are currently limited. What you actually wrote was "flame retardants" (you won't be able to quote this message if you reply). I'm going to have to give some thought about how to address this sort of thing.

I'm back.. it just happened again. No idea if it was the words I used to refer to a talking head or talking bird or what... it's all pretty inscrutable

I unblocked you. You are not going to like the reason you were blocked. You used the phrase "fun fact" which I have blocked because of the irritating "fun fact guy" who is extremely obnoxious.

Woah. I think I used that a really long time ago... and got banned just now?

Ohhh... I was replying to a thread where someone else used it and got banned because it was in the quote. I just realized that because I tried replying to the same thread and got banned for it, again.

Another instance, my last post from ip 69.250.249.18

It's frustrating to type out a long thoughtful response and get the 24 hour autoban. Maybe if you posted more details about the types of things on the block list? Or give an opportunity to review, edit and repost? It's often inscrutable...
