I've gotten very attached to a freelance client

Anonymous
They've been my main (but not only) client since I got laid off and went back to freelancing six months ago. I have a contract with them that ends in Sept - I keep wanting to ask if we have a future together but so far am holding myself back. Maybe in a month I will broach...

Relatedly - I do not miss dating!

Are there signs that the client may be interested in you romantically (as I assume this is what you mean by your growing attachment)?

I guarantee OP is a dude. And client is just kind and polite.

No, I'm a woman and this has nothing to do with THAT kind of thing! More I just keep feeling sad at the thought of not working with them anymore if either I go on to a full time job somewhere else, or the contract doesn't get extended. The client is people I used to work with at another gig, and I'd forgotten what a good little team we make.

I was on a few meetings with them today involving planning through Sept, and I think it just hit me for the first time that this gig could come to an end in not that long.

Aw, this is so sweet. I entirely understand. Yes, hold back for now, and be careful when wording it when you do broach.
