Just my husband and I. We are deciding between Vegas, Nashville, and San Juan. All very different, I know. We are looking for:
Easy flight since we have only 3 nights Somewhere with great entertainment and/or cultural experiences Great restaurants Nice upscale hotel options Some nightlife but not looking for anything overly crowded or crazy Option for some hiking or other outdoor activities |
For me, hands down San Juan |
Have been to all three 5+times and 100% agree. |
I really enjoy Vegas with my DH (and we don't gamble fwiw), but it wouldn't meet my definition of "easy flight" compared to the other two you list. So I'd say San Juan or Nashville -- either would be great, just depends on the vibe you are more attracted to. |
Late October is still hurricane season. |
No to Puerto Rico in late October — it’s still very much hurricane season. |
I’d go to Vegas |
Another vote for San Juan. Peak hurricane season is over by late October. |
I would do Vegas. If coming from DC not all that different than PR for flight time. Much better outdoor options and it should hopefully be in the 80s by then or at least cooler for morning hikes.
It will still be hurricane season in PR and hurricanes have been developing later and later. Some other options to consider maybe upstate NY (Hudson Valley) or Montreal/QC. A lot of upscale hotels have opened in Hudson Vally region lately. |
