Is this common? |
Most people do. |
In NYC yes |
Depends on the hospital. I had a private room each time. Are you local? Where are you looking to deliver? |
You need to inquire and pay for that unless the place is all singles. |
In Europe it is very common to share a maternity room, and single rooms cost extra. |
I don't think there were any shared rooms at WHC but I could be wrong. |
Depends on the hospital. At some a shared room is standard and you need to pay for a private room (if one is available).
Some hospitals have only private rooms. What hospital? |
I never did for my two kids, but wouldn't really have minded, to be honest. Takoma Park Adventist, and Shady Grove hospitals in MoCo. |
For a certain slice of the DMV population, it isn’t common. For the rest of the DMV and the world, it is.
|
What hospitals in the dmv have this? Only ever heard about it in NYC |
This would have absolutely tormented me and made my post partum hospital stay even worse if that’s possible. Cruel to new mothers but what else is new. |
Exactly. It sounds dowright inhumane |
100% agree |
I delivered at 4 different hospitals in VA and DC. Three had all private rooms, and the one that didn’t had enough rooms that most patients still had the room to themselves (and they have since renovated to all private rooms). |
