PCSB Monday meeting agenda is up

This looks to be a long meeting! Highlights include six Truancy notes of concern, vote in a new application NewU Early College, and reviews for Early Childhood, AppleTree, Howard, and Bridges. I don't expect closures but conditions are possible. School finance monthly report is listed as a discussion item, I wonder why.

You're so welcome! I do it because there isn't really a convenient way to look at this information other than tracking the meetings, but there is a lot people can learn from it.

Pretty sad to see 2 rivers on the truancy concern list. A lot of the families I know who send their kids there would be better off at their inbound schools, in my opinion, but I guess the parents made their decision.

No kids there but I suspect the issue is more in the middle school and not elementary where most families on this board don’t send their kids.

The PCSB meeting is in just a couple of hours and no materials are out yet. They have SEED on the agenda for "health and safety" which is likely related to the two alleged sexual assaults there. That health and safety item along with a bunch of truancy notices, a new charter application vote, multiple reviews (including a couple of schools not performing that well) and a financial monitoring discussing - one has to wonder which one of these topics (or multiple topics) is causing them to be so delayed in getting out meeting materials.

Agree that they are horrible about posting. However, the last half dozen meetings, the materials have been up by/before noon. It's after 4pm.

The Appletree review was very surprising. They were deemed as not meeting goals but the PCSB decided to use its discretion to continue the school with conditions.

I think they're way too willing to pass schools along despite failure to meet goals. But closing Appletree would be really disruptive and they've already lost a lot of ECE seats at Hope, I Dream, and Eagle. So it makes sense they wouldn't want to reduce capacity further.
