I have rotting wood on the window trims in a couple of areas of the house and I also need the exterior trim painted.
What type of vendor should I call for this and do you have any recommendations? |
| Some paint companies offer general carpentry duties - like basic exterior window trim - as part of their service. If the window itself or the house frame/sheathing is rotting, I'd let a GC handle that. |

I don't know what a "vendor" is, usually that is someone that has a retail establishment that also sells in intermittent locations. If you mean who you would hire, you would call a general contractor for that, and a painter for the painting, but a GC might hook you up with a painter for a fee. |

Weird my post disappeared. I used: https://manorworks.com/
I had rot on a decorative wood piece and they did the carpentry, power washed off algae, prepped and painted. No overspray! |
| If you have a lot of painted wood trim like we did, consider getting it wrapped in aluminum. They’ll repair wood and prep first and then wrap. It was a little more than a complete paint job at the time but we haven’t had to repaint. It paid for itself and still looks great. |

I wonder what the wood looks like under houses that have Al/vinyl siding. The whole "out of sight, out of mind" thing just makes me think dry rot, termites, etc.
