Law firm committees?

| As a first year partner, are there any firm committees worth trying to join? I understand Policy is at the top and I assume associate development or hiring is at the bottom in terms of “importance” — but any sleeper committees good for making connections across practices or offices? |

| This is incredibly firm-specific. Make sure you have a mentor and ask them. |

| The only committee that matters is the comp committee, and you aren’t getting on that. Concentrate on building your practice/clients. You can waste a lot of time in recruiting, unless you need new associates yourself. |
