I'm debating getting a tattoo removed and really on the fence. I don't dislike the tattoo and it's fairly discrete and the work is good quality, but it's old and starting to fade anyway, and I feel less connected to the reasons I originally got it than I once did. I think I either need to go have it touched up, or cover it with something new, or have it removed altogether. I've already talked to a tattoo artist about the cover up and touch up options, but I want to weight against removal before I decide, since if I decide to touch it up or cover it, I'm really re-committing to the tattoo.
If you've had a tattoo removed in the last few years, where did you go and what was your experience? I have looked at pricing and details from Removery as well as a tattoo removal place near me. The tattoo is kind of long and narrow so it's unclear if it would be treated as a small or medium size (it's about 7 inches long but only 2 inches wide) which impacts the pricing, but looks like I'd be looking at 2-3k all in. Maybe less given that it's an old tattoo that is already somewhat faded, black ink only, and I have low-melanin skin which I've read can make it possible to completely remove in fewer sessions. Anyway, interested in any and all experiences but especially recent ones. Any details on pricing and number of sessions (and on the kind of tattoo you had removed) are especially welcome. And if you went to Removery I'd love feedback on them -- all the comments online are positive but I think their marketing team works hard to ensure that so I would like less bias feedback. TIA! If you just want to hate on tattoos or people who get them, please go elsewhere! I like tattoos but might be ready to move on from this specific one. |
