The last few weeks, I have found my bags of mandarins so uneven. Let's say out of 8 oranges, 3 are dried out, 1 is moldy, and 4 are ok.
Obviously, time to move on to other fruit, but am I alone here? What do you do in this case? Take things back to the store (I've never done that, and probably not worth my time, but I find this so annoying!) |
| It’s because they are out of season and have been in storage |
This is why we just stopped buying the bags and only by single mandarins. Always a sad time of year! I just ate my last good one this morning, so will hunt again for a few more later this week

| You need to buy produce when it's in season. |
| They have to be firm when you buy them. I squeeze every one I can through the netting. But you are right, more dried and moldy ones than usual. |
| Out if season, so time to move on. |
I find the bags of most items are not worth the savings. |
| It's obviously not in season. |
|
Better in colder months.
Switch to melon, strawberries, grapes. Apples and bananas are always good if you need portable fruits. |
| Get clementine instead, both Halos and Cuties are great. |
They are clementines and they are out of season. They are a winter fruit. |
| It’s strawberry season. |
|
Not the season.
Time for berries. |
