How big is your 10th grade class?

I'm wondering what the average 10th grade class size is across independent schools. I realize some schools are really quite large but as a general matter. Considering a switch from public.

SSSAS, about 120 (give or take a couple).

Average won’t tell you much because there’s so much variation. St Johns is 400 and Maret is 80, for example.

Many of the schools in more densely populated areas of DC proper (GDS, Burke, etc.) have an agreement with the neighborhood on how many people even can be in the building, so they couldn’t just decided tomorrow to have a huge incoming class.

Nora School is only 80 kids total for high school but that is by design. So, investigating numbers needs to include more understanding that numbers alone.

Nora doesn’t count, they’re SN lite not a regular school.

If you check out privateschoolreview.com, you'll get numbers that are probably mostly accurate for all but a few schools.

Barrie School had like 6 kids in calculus when we toured. High School is super small.

Well yeah. The entire school pk through 12 is smaller than the HS of many other schools. Fewer than 400 students.

OP, are you looking for the average size of the whole grade (80 student, 150 students, whatever) or the average size of class sections (15 students, capped at 18/20, whatever)?
