I have read both The Examiner and The Express (both newspapers are offered at the metro). Is it just my imagination, or does The Examiner seem a little more conservative (politically speaking) while The Express is a bit more liberal? Has anyone else thought this as well? Or do you think they both do a good job of staying balanced? Just curious about what other people thought... |
I think the same thing about them. I like to read both papers. Neither are extreme anything and a lot of times they carry the same stories. |
I think the Examiner's editorials, columnists, and national political stories are pretty heavily slanted to the conservative side. Nonetheless I like to read it because I think they cover local issues pretty well.
The Express is a watered down Washington Post which I can't bear to read because that's like drinking diet, caffeine-free coke. |
I can't bear The Express. It's all the pseudo "objective news source" PLUS the in depth coverage of TMZ.
If I only had a birdcage... |
The Examiner is a right wing rag and The Express' "news" stories are just expurgated from the Post. The other sections-- like the Going Out Guide and Entertainment pages-- are written poorly by snarky Gen Y people. |
If you live in VA, you have to call to make the Examiner go away. Otherwise they just keep chucking them onto your lawn. And even then they, call you back every so often to try to change your mind. |
The Express is the giveaway version of the WaPo. The version you pay for is bad enough. The freebie is utter crap. |
