Reasonable offer consideration time?

Anonymous
This year, the tryout dates for the three clubs DC is trying out for are spread over two weeks. The tryout for the last club takes place about two weeks after the offer consideration deadline for the first club. Is it reasonable to ask the first club for a two-week extension on their decision deadline?

yes but they don't have to agree to it, obviously. i asked for an extension from one club while waiting on an offer from another and they gave it to me.

Why even ask for an extension, aren’t you tipping your hand? If only a week, then why not let the offer sit in your inbox? They will reach out if they havent heard back and want a response. I have never seen an offer taken back until months pass.

I think you're probably fine to ask for an extension.

There are three clubs in the area that still have not had tryouts?

Really? Good to know! Do most people respond after the 48 hours? Last year, I asked for an extension on the 48-hour deadline and was only given 48 more hours. So I ended up accepting the offer before another one came in.

It does if your kid isn't special and and a needed add on to the tram. Don't listen to people saying it's all BS. For 90% of players they will move on if you don't respond and if you ask they will tell you no to an extension.

Just email we accept but dont sign the contract unless you are ok eating the cash.

False

If it’s a high level team they will likely hold you to the 48 but follow up before they pull the offer. If it’s not, it will stay open. Ask for more time and if they say no you’ll have to make a decision before the other tryouts.

Signing the contract and paying a deposit is part of the acceptance process in whatever system they use when you hit accept.

I guess the clubs must both offer what your kid is looking for?
