travel insurance recommendations?

I need trip insurance for a local beach trip. It needs to be "cancel for any reason" insurance because one of the people going has a chronic health condition that can flare at any time, and that's the most likely reason we'd have to cancel, so it can't have a pre-existing condition exclusion. Do you have companies you recommend?

When did you book the nonrefundable beach trip? Usually you have to buy cancel for any reason within a few days. You can probably get regular trip insurance if it’s an illness though.

I haven't booked yet. I'm just looking for the names of good companies.

I would call the tripinsurancestore.com and ask them for advice— they will explain to you exactly what insurance to buy (or even explain if travel insurance won’t work for your situation, which is actually what happened last time to me).

I've had good help from both insuremytrip and squaremouth
Just go to the websites and put in your information. If you have questions the chat or a live person will be available to help.
Check out the insurance before you pay for the trip.

Did a deep dive into this a few years ago because we used to do a lot of adventure travel. Travel Guard was the most recommended. It was convenient to sign up for. Never had to use it, thank goodness, so I can’t speak to that.

We skip the middleman and go straight to the company. Google Nationwide Travel Insurance.
