how big are the K classes at Hyde, elsewhere?

Anonymous
I heard there are 30 kids in each kindergarden class at Hyde-Addison. Is this true?
Caveat: I've been told false things before about Hyde by a parent with a child there (like they don't offer foreign languages, when they DO offer Spanish and Chinese in aftercare--she doesn't use the aftercare).
So I'm just asking.
Thirty sounds like a lot of kids...it's twice the size of my daughter's pre-school class!
Thanks for any information. Yes, I plan to attend the open house on Nov. 16th, but that's a long time to wait.

25 at my school with 1 teacher and 1 f/t aide.

My child was on the waitlist and I checked at the end of August. In the course of that query, the principal, Dana Nerenberg, told me that they had 29 in each K class.

Hyde is a great school but wow that sounds like a lot to me (class size shock.) Is that pretty typical for DCPS? Our PS-3 class at Barnard has 14 kids and 1 teacher, 1 aide.

Yu Ying = 25 kids, 2 full teachers (not an aide).

22 and 23 - teacher and assistant

18, 20, and 20. One teacher + 2 aides per class.

I heard there are 31 kids in K classes at Hyde. I'd be interested to know the numbers at other NW schools like Key, Stoddert, Eaton, Murch, etc.

How is the principal doing now that she is in charge of both Hyde and Hardy?

My daughter is at Hearst. We have 20 children (one just moved, so the slot may be filled), with one teacher and one aide.

25 kids, 2 full time teachers per class. No aides.

According to this, those numbers are accurate:

26 teachers at Cooke. One aide, one teacher. One extra teacher to do "extra tutoring" and fill in when needed.
