504 Plan Implementation at Mann

Anonymous
We were fortunate enough to get a 3rd grade spot at Mann Elementary. Does anyone have a recent experience to share on the implementation of their child's 504 plan? TIA

Some 504 plans are easier to implement than others, and I think any response you get will likely reflect more on the nature of the 504 accommodations than on the school itself.

Any experience with implementing a 504 plan that supports a kiddo with ADHD at Mann?

We have a Mann 3rd grader with a 504 for ADHD! While they are very nice and responsive to emails, I cannot tell how well the individual teachers are actually following: for instance, I don't think my kid is getting the kind of scaffolding and breaking down of instructions, showing the full assignment steps ahead of time, distraction-reduced environment for their formative i-ready assessments, etc. I just don't think the teachers are trained and have the capacity to do it. The math teacher is wonderful but brand new, not credentialed, and not experienced. So this is part of the issue for us.
