Prom tie help

DS has two proms to go to and is asking for tie color help, I’m a little useless in this area
Prom 1 : dark grey suit, date’s dress is yellow Prom 2: light grey suit, date’s dress is silvery He has white shirts and we can get other colors if needed. Is it important tie is same color as dress? I don’t think either of those will look great but we’ll get what we need to. Would appreciate advice! |

I would tell him to ask his dates -- they often have opinions!
I have opinions, too, though. For the first prom, how about a light gold? Like, almost neutral. My husband has a nice tie like this. For the second, maybe black, or maybe he asks the girl what color flowers she would like, and he matches that? |
