Paris catacombs question

So from my understanding. Tickets open 7 days before to the hour. So at 10 Paris time tickets open at 10am 7 days out and that occurs every 15 mins onward. It looks like you can only buy 5 tickets at a time and we need 6. So two questions

1) how quick do they sell out in summer

2) does anyone know how many tickets they have available per time slot. I guess but 4 and 2 or some mixture to ensure no one is alone. But was wondering what chances are I can get 6 tickets same time. I know that if I look now there are seemingly options but I have no idea how many tickets are available for each time and its May. We go in July so I assume busier.

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

You should be ok, especially if you aren’t trying for the morning slots. I’d have two people online at the same time to each make separate purchases. There’s a lot of tickets available at each time (30 maybe?) but they can sellout quick.

Wow, times have changed. I was in Paris in 2003 for 3 months for school and walked in to all of the tourist sites.

OP here: I know I was there in 2001 and same thing. I don't mind pre getting tickets just hate that they don't all have the same requirements so i can't just plan everything in advance.

Can’t comment on the tickets, but we loved the catacombs!

I think we were an hour late trying to buy Catacomb tickets online last year, and never got them. We did have jump the line and everything else lined up properly for other days, but we only had one timeslot for the catacombs and missed it. I've been to the Catacombs many times in the past, and never remember getting tickets in advance. But it was a week or two before the Olympics, so that may have had something to do with it.

The world's population was 6.4 billion in 2003. Today it's 8.2 billion.

Europe's population in 2003 was 456 million. Today it's 745 million.

So, yes, times have changed.

DP here. What else would you get tickets for during a quick 3 day summer trip to Paris with teens (among other cities.) Should we take a macaron class? A few have mentioned that.

I hear ya. My husband and I went in 2000 and walked right in. Fast forward to 2018 and we waited in line for an hour and a half and gave up after the long line had only moved about 3 feet. Next time, we know to plan and purchase ahead of time.

It started being ticket only with covid.

I am scheduling it for a day with nothing else times so hopefully it works out.
