4 YO DD's Dry Nighttime Cough--Reflux?

Anonymous
My 4 year-old DD has often complained of stomachaches on and off, usually during mealtime, usually in response to not wanting to eat whatever food we were serving that night. We thought she was just seeking attention at dinnertime and trying to turn mealtime into a battle, so we have not taken such claims seriously. She seems to have a sensitive stomach, though, a couple of times in the last 2-3 months stating she is nauseated and about to throw up, carrying a throw-up bowl around. For the past 2 nights, she has begun coughing at night. A dry, unproductive cough in the middle of the night. She says she doesn't notice she is coughing, i.e., it's not waking her up, but it wakes DH and I up. I have read that one symptom of reflux is a dry nighttime cough. She doesn't appear to have any cold/allergy symptoms, and she is not coughing at all during the daytime. Has anyone had similar a experience and found out it was reflux? Or is there a midnight dry cough going around? Any insights would be helpful. If this keeps up for a couple of days, I might give our ped nurse a call.

This may be totally off, but my 3 year old just got diagnosed with strep throat and he's got a dry nighttime cough and feels nauseated. No sore throate though. Very swollen glands however.
